20-09D 2020-07-21 Snapshot Matrix with Web View

Updated: Jul 22

The company issued "Tentative Headcount Ceilings - Global Categories" via CCS on July 20, 2020.

Since the company only issued only numbers for wide body first officers, the UAL Matrix uses the higher of these numbers for the "Headcount Ceilings:"

  • 20-08D "Tentative Headcount Ceilings - Global Categories."

  • July 20, 2020 "widebody first officer headcount ceilings."

  • 20-09D MIN/MAX Staffing Numbers.

These numbers have been incorporated into the Webview and the Excel Spreadsheet.

UAL CCS Bulletin:

"To aid in bidding for Displacement Bid 20-09D, the following updated widebody first officer headcount ceilings are provided below.

In many cases, these staffing levels are not needed in the operation for several months. Thus, if the displacement bid does not result in the numbers shown below, staffing will likely remain below those numbers for a while."

Every pilot involved in or concerned with the process should read the relevant sections of the UPA (including section 8-E ). If you haven't read that section, you probably won't realize some important details and protections that are part of the displacement process.

The ALPA SSC published a document which is very helpful in explaining the process.
